Au's Page
For eight years Au Pasomdee was close to Bub and Betty. While he was not their blood relative, he accompanied me numerous times per year on the 8 + hour drive from Seattle to Malo, Washington. The drive was often exhausting and we both worked - plus I was always in school. (I would not have had the opportunity to visit as much without Au's help).
Nothing could get in Au's way when it came to transporting the Thanksgiving ham on its yearly journey to Bub and Betty's dinner table. They were always so happy to see us --- up late, waiting for us to arrive.
Au always took the time to do dishes and sweep the floor. He chopped wood for granddad and cleared the tall grass from the yard. He took grandma to the store and fixed her a sandwich.
Grandma was absolutely tickled pink by Au. She often joked, "You had better watch him! If I were a bit younger, why, I'd snatch him up!"
Definitely Au was one of the only people I've ever known my granddad to never have a negative word toward. He really liked his company. Au will remain forever cherished as far as my grandparents were concerned.
